A teenager has been charged with murdering a promising student on his way home from school prom night.

Patrick Sharp, 18, has also been charged with the murder of Kajetan Migdal, 18, who died of a wound in hospital.

Kajetan allegedly attacked him in Stevenage Catlane at 11:20pm on Friday after 13 years of neglect.

Sharp has also been charged with possession of aggressive weapons and class A drugs.

The teenager appeared before Judge St Albans Court today and remains in custody until Wednesday at Luton Court.

Hertfordshire Police said Kajetan was seriously injured on Saturday morning and died in hospital.

His family said they were “devastated” by his loss.

“Kajetani was a loving and happy young man with a bright future. He was known for his love of dance, animals, diligence and compassionate friendship,” they said.

Clive Matthews, principal of St. John Henry Newman Catholic School, said:

She was a constant source of pride at school and was known for her love of dance. She was a member of Prospects Fraternity, a dance group that captured the center of school and country in 2019 on the BBC’s Greatest Dancer Show.

On Saturday, the school opened a chapel for the mourner who left a bouquet of dozens of flowers.

Justin Jenkins, a detective inspector in Bedfordshire, Cambridge and Hertfordshire, said:
