President Biden stressed that the Queen had helped bring the United States and the United Kingdom closer together.
Joe and Jill Biden paid tribute to 70 years of the queen Elizabeth on the royal throne speaking of “selfless devotion and service” to his people United Kingdom.
In a video posted on their social media accounts, the US president and first lady referred to the queen’s “generosity” when they visited her at Windsor Castle in June 2021.
They stressed that the queen helped bring the United States and the United Kingdom closer together.
“Congratulations on your Platinum Jubilee,” President Biden said in a statement. “For 70 years you have been inspiring people with your selfless devotion and service to the people of the United Kingdom. “Throughout your reign, the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom has become stronger and closer than ever.”
Jill Biden added: “All these years, the joy that your visits to the United States have brought to the Americans and your solidarity with the American people in times of tragedy have deepened the friendship and deep connection between our countries. Both Joe and I were so moved by the generosity and welcome you showed us when we visited Windsor Castle last year during our first overseas visit as President and First Lady.
