A celebration to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee went into effect last night in the UK.
Pubs and bars were packed in cities across the country as people greeted the 96-year-old monarch with a toast on a bank holiday weekend.
The British created a union jacket, a face mask with the image of a queen, and hung a glass on the head of state. The head of state will celebrate his 70th anniversary this weekend after assuming the throne.
In Newcastle, the cold prevented people from leaving the city, but Soho, in central London, was flooded with drinks from pubs and streets.
In Birmingham, an evangelist joked with an entertainer and the festival began. In Leeds, a similar scene was seen when people took pictures of the streets decorated with streets.
This comes as the official anniversary kicks off today with the Queen’s Birthday Parade and Trooping the Colour.
The show of glitz and splendor will be the first in a series of grand events to mark the Queen’s 70th birthday, which will end on Sunday at the Central Jubilee Competition in London.
Trooping the Color takes place annually to celebrate the Queen’s birthday, but this year’s event is a special one.

Thousands of people flock to Buckingham Palace on Saturday night to host a BBC Platinum Party at a concert at the palace.
The festival ends on Sunday with a parade through central London.
The Platinum Jubilee Contest starts at 14:30 and lasts for more than 2 hours.
The monarch is then expected to step onto the balcony of Buckingham Palace to end the weekend and watch Ed Sheeran sing the national anthem in the British National Treasure Choir.
