The extradition of the former governor was “the result of close cooperation” between Mexico and the United States, authorities said on the eve of the imposition of sanctions by the US Treasury Department against six Mexicans accused of participating in a cartel.
The governor of Chihuahua, Marou Campos, said in a Twitter post that he was “celebrating” the decision, stressing that he was not going to forgive or forget what his predecessors had done.
