The events of the second day of the celebrations of the Platinum Jubilee for the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth on the throne are focused on St. Paul’s Cathedral in the City of London.

The 96-year-old monarch, however, will not attend the morning eulogy, as the Palace announced on Thursday night felt “discomfort” during her presence on the first day of the events.

Queen Elizabeth had twice appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at noon, after the traditional Trooping the Color military ceremony.

Despite the discomfort she felt, however, at night she made the symbolic touch of the first of the nearly 3,500 torches lit throughout the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in her honor.

Absent from the doxology will be the Prince Andrewwho stated that he was diagnosed positive in the coronavirus, but also the patient with Covid Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. The service and the sermon will be taken in his place by the Bishop of York, Steven Katrel.

Present at the temple will be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meganin their first official public appearance at a royal event since Megxit.

The ceremony will begin with the church bell, the “Big Paul”, ringing for only the ninth time after its repair in 2021. It is the largest church bell in the country, weighing 16.5 tons. Built in 1882.

The royal family will be led by the Crown Prince of Wales, Charles.

A reception for the family and guests will be hosted by the City Mayor at the historic Guildhall building.

The events culminate in the weekend with the BBC’s big concert in front of the palace on Saturday and the carnival-like parade on Sunday afternoon.
