Italy – Draghi: Introduces the “super green vaccinated pass” – What will apply to the unvaccinated

by

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi referred to the “super green pass” measure, in which the Italian government confirms free access to indoor areas to all vaccinated, while severely restricting the corresponding possibility for those who have not been vaccinated.

“We want to prevent and protect the citizens, to maintain all the positive things we managed to achieve,” said the prime minister.

“We want to maintain our familiar daily routine, the ability to go out, to be able to fight poverty, and for our children to be able to go to school normally,” the technocratic prime minister added.

At the same time, Draghi wished this Christmas to be better than last year and thanks to these new measures to be able to support the tourism sector. He stressed that he has already taken the booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

As for the “enhanced green pass”, from December 6 to January 15, it can be used only by vaccinated citizens and those who have been infected with the virus and have been treated, with free access to all enclosed spaces. Unvaccinated citizens, with negative tests, will be able to enter their workplace and means of transport.

These restrictions will also apply to the so-called “white zones”, ie in areas with a relatively low number of cases. In case the cases increase, no new bans are foreseen for the vaccinated citizens.

The “vaccinated pass” will be necessary for entry to hotels and means of transport. The duration of the pass, from now on, is reduced from twelve to nine months.

The Draghi government also decided to extend compulsory vaccination to new categories of citizens. The police, the carabinieri, the soldiers, the teachers, as well as all the staff working in the schools, will now be added to the medical staff.

Finally, regarding the commemorative dose of the coronavirus vaccine, the government of Rome has decided that from December 1, the relevant platform will be open to all citizens over 18 years of age.
