Orlando police arrested the 10-year-old, who is being held in a juvenile detention center. She has not yet been charged. Her mother has also been arrested and charged with a host of crimes.
The incident occurred on May 30, the day of Remembrance Day in the USA.

“Is one of the most tragic cases I have faced in the 22 years of my career. This shot is one unthinkable tragedy “It can not be easily solved,” said Warrell.
On the night of May 30, Lassam Rogers, 41, was cooking with her partner in the back of their apartment complex in Orlando. At one point, 31-year-old Lakrisa Isaac and her daughter arrived at the scene and started arguing with Rogers over a recent confrontation. The two women started punching each other and then Isaac’s daughter took the gun from her mother’s backpack. THE 10-year-old shot twice and hit Rogers in the head, killing her. Still holding the gun, the girl shouted “She should not have hit my mom,” according to Rogers’s partner’s statement to police.
Isaac grabbed the gun, aimed it at Rogers’s friend, who raised his hands. The 31-year-old then left with her daughter. He is now charged with murder, neglect of juvenile supervision, complicity in juvenile delinquency and assault with a firearm.
