It concerns the staff of the German car industry at the Nizhny Novgorod plant in Russia.
The German car industry Volkswagen will compensate its employees in one of the two factories of the company in Russiaif they agree to resign voluntarilyas reported today by the newspaper “The Kommersant.”
According to the same post, the compensation, which in some cases can be equal to six months’ salarywill be provided to the staff of 200 people in its factory unit Nizhny Novgoronτ.
THE Volkswagen announced in March that production at the Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod car plants should be suspended until further notice, because of the imposition of Western sanctions.
At the same time, as announced, vehicle exports to Russia would be stopped immediately.
Kommersant quoted union sources as saying that if workers accepted VW’s offer before June 17, they would receive six months’ salary. The agreement will also cover medical care by the end of 2022.
