Prince Charles is said to have described the government’s plan to send people to Rwanda as “terrible”.
The heir to the throne reportedly spoke in a personal conversation about Boris Johnson’s controversial immigration policy.
According to the comment leaked by the Times, Charles doesn’t like the government’s “direction of travel.”
He is also said to be angry during the period of Rwandan politics as he chairs a conference in Rwanda later this month.
The Prince of Wales represents the Queen at the Federal Summit in Kigali.
An anonymous source close to Charles told the newspaper:
“He said the whole government approach was horrible. It was clear that he did not like the direction in which the government was traveling.
It was unclear how the comments were provided to the Times, and Clarence House neither denied nor confirmed that they represented Charles’ views.
A spokesman said: “I will not comment on anonymous personal conversations with the Prince of Wales unless he claims he is politically neutral. Policy matters are government decisions.”
This is not the first time that Charles has stated his views on political issues, but he has been much more neutral in recent years.
The Royal Treaty argues that high-ranking members of the royal family, especially the monarchs, have not expressed their views on the government’s actions, which the Queen enthusiastically defends.
Republicans have long argued that Charles’ involvement in politics and past is a willingness to express his point of view, testing the delicate balance between hereditary monarchy and democratic rule.
Immigrants arriving in the UK under a Home Secretary-led scheme face illegal deportation over 4,000 miles to Central African counties.
The government escaped the first legal objection to stop the first scheduled flight on Tuesday.
Another filing is expected in the coming days, and the government has previously recognized the potential for widespread procedures regarding this policy.
Pritty Patel welcomed this decision, saying:
Rwanda is a safe country and was previously recognized as a safe haven for refugees. We will continue to prepare for our first flight to Rwanda, along with other measures aimed at reducing the crossing of small vessels.
