The Finnish Media Council (JSN) has received a complaint about the publication by the tabloid magazine Seiska of a photo of the prime minister in leggings pushing a stroller in Helsinki. The photo was published last week, with many Finns reacting, talking about sexism.
JSN President Iro Hivonen said the decision on whether to lodge a formal complaint with the Council would be taken before the summer recess in late June.
“If so, the complaint will be considered at a council meeting in late August,” he said.
The complaint was submitted by a person not named, invoking respect for human dignity and the protection of privacy.
According to Iro Hivonen, there is no precedent in this complaint.
