Rescue crews managed to save a deaf man yesterday, Tuesday night boy who was trapped for four days in a well in the central Indiaannounced the local authorities.

The 10-year-old boy, named Rahul Sahou, fell into a very tight spot on Friday well 24 meters deep as he played in the backyard of his home in the state of Chattisgarh in central India.

The boy “was rescued in complete safety thanks to the prayers of all and the tireless efforts of the rescue team,” said in a post on Twitter the state Prime Minister Bupes Bagel.

Rahul Sahou “is alive but weak” and “was rushed to a hospital” in a neighboring area, local government leader Jitendra Soukla told reporters.

“A snake was spotted in the well, but the boy showed unparalleled courage, maintaining his composure during the operation,” he added.

Earthmoving machinery and cranes helped tunnel opening next to the wellwith the help of the military.

Bad weather, as well as snakes and scorpions, as well as very hard rock, hampered tunneling and delayed rescue efforts, according to local authorities.

A camera was used during the operation to monitor the child’s condition and movements, also said Vijay Agrawal, the head of the Zhangjigir district police, from the scene of the accident.

Accidents with young children in wells are common located in rural villages of India.

In 2019 in the northern state of Punjab, a 2-year-old child died in a well, after four days of fruitless efforts to save him.

However, in the same year, another one-and-a-half-year-old boy was rescued in the neighboring state of Hariana, after being trapped for two days also in a well.
