From life-threatening crises to rail strikes and holiday delays, it’s not the biggest summer in the UK, despite being the first real summer without Covid-19 restrictions.

But now another nuisance is on the horizon: British ice cream vendors say they are facing a “nightmare” shortage of Cadbury 99 flakes.

And on Friday, the temperature rises to 32°C due to the prophetic heat. The dream of a beachgoer wandering the beach with ice cream in hand is shattered.

Cadbury’s parent company disclosed a “supply chain disruption” after moving most of its linen production to a factory near Cairo, Egypt.

A spokesperson for Modelez said: Earlier this year.

This means that Flake99 is experiencing some short-term inventory issues.

“We are currently working hard to resolve the situation and working closely with our direct distribution customers to fairly manage supply distribution based on our initial expectations.

The Ice Cream Alliance states:

“Flake products are synonymous with ice cream known as Flake 99, which is frustrating for members and their customers, especially during the summer as they are enjoyed across the UK.

“ICA hopes that the delivery issues will be resolved as soon as possible, which will benefit both members and the ice cream industry and its consumers.

Abby Beech, who runs Abbey’s Ice Cream in Hasles in East Yorkshire, said suppliers are limited to buying 10 boxes at a time.

He told the BBC: [Flakes] In the frame. Sounds like a lot, but if you’re going to a big event, you can easily use boxes of 8 or 9.

Chocolate sticks were thought to be called 99 flakes because baby corn is only 99 pence.

However, Cadbury claims that this goes back to the time when the Italian king had 99 defense units, so the element considered elite by the Italians was called 99.
