The two teens stole $3,030,000 worth of gum and tried to get away with it all when police gave chase.
Keon Sanderson, 18, and Ellie Beneke, 19, attacked the Wrigley lorry when it was parked and the driver was sleeping at the Gloucestershire M5 service area.
They punctured the truck and shipped the rubber to their heavy vehicle.
However, someone noticed the young man and called the police after 3:00 pm on May 4.
As soon as the teens filled the trucks, they began fleeing down the highway.
They refused to go through the police and made the wrong move when crossing the ring road and the highway.
Officers were eventually able to stop their car, but Sanderson and Beneke attempted to escape on foot.
However, they were discovered by police dogs and their owners.
Both defendants pleaded guilty to theft and possession of cannabis at Gloucester Crown Court on Tuesday.
They were released on bail until July 18 pending sentencing.
Prosecutor Nicholas Wood said: Sanderson does not have a criminal record, but Veneke only has one conviction for driving.
