NATO has announced that it will strengthen its troops on the east side after Vladimir Putin’s vicious war with Ukraine has entered its fifth month.

For the first time since the Cold War, the Alliance will have “default power in certain Eastern countries in relation to our defense program.”

This is to allow us to respond more quickly in the event of a threat, following repeated threats by Russian proponents that “nuclear war may occur.”

A long-term plan to help Ukraine ward off Moscow’s invasion is being re-discussed after the collapse of peace talks.

Alliance Secretary Jason Stoltenberg said today:

“Russia’s aggression is a game changer. Therefore, NATO needs to maintain reliable restraint and strong defenses.

“Today, the ministers discussed the size of our future position and how we can strengthen our presence in all areas and significantly strengthen our presence, capabilities and readiness.

“This means more NATO combat formations, more air force, navy, cyber defense and a stockpile of forward-positioning equipment and weapons to strengthen battle groups in the eastern part of the alliance.”

This was after confirming that Germany would strengthen its involvement in Lithuania, and France is determined to increase its presence in Romania.

Russian troops have launched attacks in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region, slowly but steadily stealing land from heavily conquered and armed Ukrainian troops, demanding more weapons from their Western allies.

Approximately 500 civilians are trapped in the Severodonetsk chemical facility as Russian troops demand the soldiers’ surrender, hoping the humanitarian corridor will open soon.

Seberodnetsky is one of the last cities in the Donbus region that has not yet been dominated by Russia.

US Army Chief of Staff Mark Mill estimated that 20 to 30 percent of Russian armored vehicles were lost.

Meanwhile, Ukraine is believed to continue to report between 100 and 200 military casualties each.

Asked if a war-torn country could continue to fight back against these losses, Mill said: “This is an existential threat. They are fighting for their own lives.”

“So your ability to endure suffering and sacrifice is directly proportional to the goals you achieve.”

The UK announced the latest wave of sanctions against Russia on Thursday, targeting those allegedly involved in the “barbaric” treatment of Ukrainian children.

Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia’s children’s rights commissioner, charged that “we have organized a new policy to forcibly remove 2,000 vulnerable children from the Lugansk and Donetsk regions and promote forced adoption in Russia.”

Bishop Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, was also furloughed for his explicit support of the Kremlin’s military aggression.

Chancellor Liz Truss said:

“We will never get tired of advocating freedom and democracy and putting pressure on Putin until Ukraine succeeds.”
