Boris Johnson pays second surprise visit to Kyiv to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
It is indicative that the prime minister was going to attend a party congress in Doncaster, but left at the last minute, according to SKAI correspondent Thanasis Gavos. He was to address lawmakers, city councilors and businessmen.
“Mr President, Volodymyr, I am glad to be back in Kyiv” the British Prime Minister states in his tweet.
This is his second visit Mr Johnson has been in Ukraine since the start of the war, and was the first G7 leader to travel to Kyiv. The new visit is coming one day after the leaders’ trip Germany, France, Italy and Romania in the Ukrainian capital.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had characteristically stated during the visit of the British Prime Minister in April: “We welcome Boris Johnson to Kyiv … Be brave, like Boris. Be brave, like Ukraine.”
“Many days of this war have shown the support of Great Britain in Ukraine is stable and decisive. “I’m glad to see our great friend Boris Johnson in Kyiv again.” said the President of Ukraine welcoming the British Prime Minister to Ukraine.
