The cat breeder was found to have been partially eaten by the 20 legacy cats after he collapsed at home alone.
Police believe he died for two weeks when his body was finally found surrounded by animals.
The grisly discovery was first made in the city of Bataysk, Russia, after an employee who called the police was unable to contact the breeder.
An animal rescue expert who cared for the surviving giant Maine Coon cat said:
“I didn’t have any food, so what else should I eat? Is that clear? They ate whatever.
Some of the healthier cats were sold to new owners for 2,000 rubles (£29) each.
Maine Coon cats are known for their large size and were born in Maine, United States.
