In Burnley, a house collapsed after the explosion in Lancashire, two people were taken to hospital and several facilities were evacuated.

The North West Ambulance Service said an 18-year-old man was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital after being seriously injured.

A second patient was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for evaluation.

One was reportedly rescued by neighbors when an incident occurred on Sefton Terrace in the afternoon.

The police cordon is located in a residential area next to Burnley Manchester Road station.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service told LancsLive:

“We took two patients to hospital. An 18-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

“A sick woman was taken to Royal Blackburn for evaluation.”

Residents were evacuated from their homes after their house collapsed in Burnley this afternoon (June 20).  After the accident, members of the ambulance would have been mobilized at the scene, affecting people who live in several facilities.  Residents were advised to avoid some roads in the area.  Police cordon including Sefton Terrace and Piccadilly Road.  This is mainly a residential area within walking distance of Burnley Manchester Road Station.

In a statement, the Lancashire Fire Rescue Team said on Twitter: “We are currently dealing with an explosion at our home on Sefton Terrace in Burnley.

One was taken to the hospital with the help of a neighbor.

“Avoid the area around Sefton Terrace and Piccadilly Road.”

Ambulance services work with local governments and utilities to protect sites and assess the structure of affected assets.

Firefighters use an air ladder platform to remove stones from the edges of the fence and keep the house safe.

Lancashire Police have once again asked the public to avoid the area.

The army said on Twitter: “Please note we are currently dealing with a collapsed house on Septon Terrace in Burnley.

“There was an emergency service on site and some facilities were evacuated.”
