According to police, a 15-year-old boy was killed and three people, including a police officer, were shot and killed at a music event on Sunday night.

Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Washington for a music and advocacy festival in June called “Moechella,” which police said was an “unacceptable” event.

Approximately two hours after the fact, the police moved to disperse the event after a brawl, and another incident broke up the town. Police removed the firearm from the demonstration before the shooting.

Police were trying to clear the area around 8:30 a.m. when the shooting began. An unknown 15-year-old boy was killed in an accident while policemen shot him and two other adults in the legs.

The three adults were taken to the hospital for treatment. At this time, it is unknown what fired.

Police said the incident occurred about two miles north of the White House.

After the fact, several firearms were removed from the area, including those used during the shooting.

Police believe one is responsible for the shooting, but no one has been arrested.

The victim has not been identified and it is unclear whether police believe the case was committed by one person, given the particular suspect.

According to Moechella’s Instagram page, the event was a peaceful demonstration in commemoration of the June date, a holiday that celebrates the liberation of enslaved people in the United States.

The name unifies the date slavery was abolished in Texas, the last US state where slavery was allowed. This day became a federal holiday in 2021 under the leadership of President Joe Biden.

After the shooting, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser held a news conference, stressing that the event needed more preparation to prevent a similar tragedy in the future. After the weekend, some DC officials said Moechella organizers did not have permission from the city to host the event.

“There is a child who died today in an unplanned event,” Bowser said. “We need accountability here.”
