The Turkish police raided once again in Istanbul Pride March, moving on more than 200 arrests of activists and journalists in the area of the square Taxim.
Prior to the start of the rally, which was banned, special police forces raided a bar in the Jihangir district near Taksim and randomly arrested spectators, including journalists and members of the LOATKI + community.

As every year, the march was banned by the governor of Istanbul, but hundreds of demonstrators with rainbow-colored flags gathered in the streets around Taksim Square, which was closed to the public.

The non-governmental organization Kaos GL counted at least 200 arrests, Amnesty International said in a Twitter message calling for the immediate and unconditional release of those arrested.
