The fourth dose is reminded that it has optional character for those belonging to the age group 30 to 59 years, however for those over 60 there is strong texture.
The official announcement of the Vaccination Committee, following the relevant decision taken on Thursday, is as follows:
In the context of the implementation of the decision of the National Vaccination Committee regarding the administration of the 2nd booster dose (4th dose), the strong recommendation remains for those over 60.
Regarding the general population under the age of 60, the National Vaccination Committee points out that there is currently insufficient scientific data on the additional benefit that a second booster dose would offer with existing vaccines. However, the National Vaccination Committee recommends that a second booster dose be given to people aged 30 to 59 if they choose. The platform will be open to all who wish on Monday 27-06-22.
It is recalled that citizens over 60 have already, for weeks, the possibility of vaccination.
It is noted that the suggestion comes at a time when coronavirus cases are increasing both in Greece and in the rest of Europe.
