The three-year-old boy died after being left in the car on a very hot day when his grandmother allegedly forgot about him for hours.

Kendrick Engram Jr. was discovered in Columbus, Georgia, after a grandmother in Wendy’s car called his uncle on Sunday.

According to the Muscovite District Court, the boy stayed in the third row of Nissan SUVs for about 2 hours and 45 minutes. He was suffocated.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest temperature on Sunday was 96 degrees Fahrenheit and the lowest temperature was 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Kendrick was with other families, including his grandmother and three sisters, most weeks with Buddy Brian, a judicial expert in the Moscow district. The family returned home around 5:30 pm.

“Everyone went into the house except the little boy,” Brian told the Daily Mail.

The grandmother went to the bedroom and the other children went to the kitchen to eat. Then the children come in and out, play… just like the children.

Nearly three hours later, around 8:15 pm, Grandma noticed that Kendrick was missing. She apparently called the children and asked how to count, but no one knew where the child was.

My grandmother called Kendrick’s uncle at a fast food restaurant to see if he had a baby. Her uncle initially denied that Kendrick was there, but soon found him in a van.

Kendrick died at 9 pm.

‘I just learned. I just learned. “If you’re an adult, take responsibility,” Brian said. “Children are innocent. They can’t help themselves, and when you have a child who is responsible for you.”

It’s unclear if the family will be prosecuted in connection with Kendrick’s death on Tuesday.

The GoFundMe page describes Kendrick’s funeral expenses as “energetic, loving and vibrant.”

According to Safe Kids, Kendrick is the seventh child to die this year after being left in a hot car.

Last week, five-year-old Tracy Mainz died after her mother put her behind a Porsche SUV for a couple of hours in 100*F heat in Houston, Texas.
