A British man suffered a brain injury after the children’s trip abroad went awry.
Andre Franco, 22, was vacationing with his friend in Aianapa when he decided to go out in a rental bag after his friend drank too much.
The driver immediately turned around and threw Andre and another friend out of the backseat.
Andrey Susanna Costa’s godfather said:
“As you can imagine in a place like this in the morning, they got wet…they panicked because they saw blood, and I think they were just scared.”
Andrey’s friend suffered only a few injuries, but Andre from Camden, north London, had a broken head and extensive brain swelling.
He was taken to Nicosia General Hospital after a group called an ambulance.
A friend called his mother Isabel and told her about the accident.
“I killed myself,” he said. “I’m scared of feelings, so I guess I didn’t feel anything. I wasn’t panicking, I was stuck.”
“I remember Susanna next to me and saying, ‘Andrew had an accident.’ I couldn’t speak, so I handed her the phone.
The couple flew directly to Cyprus with Andrey’s father, Carlos, who arrived shortly after.

A former Gospel Oak FC player has undergone several major surgeries, removing part of his skull and swelling his brain.
After the accident, you are unable to walk or talk and may not be able to fully recover.
Susanna said: ‘They don’t really know, so the doctors don’t tell us much so far. At this point, it’s touch and go. “
But they start to get better after Andre gets the call and hopes he will be more active.
Susana said: “He is animated and moving his legs, arms and body while he is still intubated, but it is still too early to know for sure.
“We asked him a question. He’s proud of ‘no’ and ‘yes’.” We asked him some random questions about us. “Do you know who we are?” We are kidding.
“I think I saw some facial expressions on his face that could be described as a smile. I do not know. That’s optional, but she answers “yes” or “no.”
