Rudolph Giuliani, Trump’s ex-lawyer, goes viral on social media by advertising flip-flops

by

Former Donald Trump lawyer Rudolph Giuliani went viral on social media when he advertised flip-flops that cost $49.98.

Giuliani, who was also mayor of New York, published on Thursday (30) an image with four pairs of flip-flops in different colors and a promotional code. “Great products at reasonable prices. Use code ‘Rudy’ for additional savings,” he wrote in the caption.

The poster states that the regular price of flip-flops from the US company My Pillow is US$79.98, but that drops to US$49.98 for consumers who use the code. The publication went viral even with the comments field blocked, and users made jokes with the content of the message. As of 11 pm this Friday, the publication had received more than 21,000 likes and had been reposted 15,000 times.

“One day, Rudy appears in the Borat movie. The next, he sells flip-flops,” wrote one netizen, referring to a compromising scene in the film of the character Borat, played by Sacha Baron Cohen. In the clip, he is seen reaching into his pants and apparently touching his genitals in the presence of an actress he believes is a reporter for a conservative news program.

Last week, Giuliani appeared in a video shown during a public hearing that brings to light the result of investigations into the invasion of the Capitol, on January 6 of last year. The lawyer is accused of having encouraged Trump to try to subvert the results of the election won by Joe Biden.

Giuliani was twice elected mayor of New York with the crime-fighting platform. He ruled the largest city in the US from 1994 to 2001.
