His father is doing well – His mother Rosalia Manosperti, who is four months pregnant, has milder symptoms
A six-year-old boy from Palermo died of food poisoning in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh while on holiday there with his family, Ansa news agency reported.
Antonio’s father, a 46-year-old worker at the highway company ANAS, is in a critical condition in hospital. His mother Rosalia Manosperti, who is four months pregnant, has milder symptoms.
The family visited a local doctor, who gave them three pills to treat food poisoning, according to The Sun newspaper. “The symptoms did not go away, so they called the doctor again, who told them to come back in the afternoon“, said the child’s uncle. He called an ambulance and the family was taken to the hospital.
“My nephew was in serious condition. We learned that despite resuscitation efforts for an hour, the doctors could do nothing.” the child’s uncle stated. “My son-in-law, on the other hand, came to the hospital unconscious, with symptoms of kidney failure and breathing problems».
The 6-year-old was given serum on arrival at the hospital, but died an hour later. The family arrived in Egypt on June 26 and were to stay for two weeks.
