Theresa May was seen dancing with excitement at a music festival on the day her old rival Boris Johnson announced yesterday, Thursday June 7, that he would step down as prime minister following a barrage of resignations from his ministers, under-secretaries and advisers.
The former prime minister showed off some of her most signature dance moves as she hopped along with Craig David, who sang his hit ‘Nothing Like This’ in Oxfordshire, the Daily Mail reports.
Boris Johnson, who helped oust May as prime minister in 2019, finally announced his resignation yesterday, saying “no one is necessary” as he confirmed his MPs clearly want a change.
And while Boris Johnson’s resignation may have brought sadness to the faces of some of his supporters, Theresa May appeared happier than ever. May, 65, was dressed in a bright orange dress next to her husband Philip, who also appeared to be dancing as he bopped along to the music.
In 2018, May, due to her dancing prowess, earned the nickname “The Maybot”! The former prime minister wore earrings and a pearl necklace.
Some have suggested that May herself could be brought in as interim prime minister in order to get Johnson out as soon as possible. May laughed off those claims yesterday. He said: “I don’t think there will be a caretaker prime minister, in the sense that someone else will take on that role».
