A man was accused of admitting that he had twice raped a 10-year-old pregnant girl.
After being sexually assaulted, the young victims of Gershon Fuentes had to travel from Ohio to Indiana to get an abortion due to a change in the law in the Supreme Court.
Ohio banned the procedure just hours after the Supreme Court voted against Roe v. Wade.
Fuentes was arrested Tuesday and charged with rape.
The case has sparked international criticism, with President Joe Biden speaking out before signing an executive order aimed at protecting access to abortion.
He said: Should a 10-year-old girl be forced to give birth to an abusive child? Does anyone believe that this is the opinion of the majority of Ohio that this cannot be resolved? “
The girl’s mother reported the incident on June 22 and she was referred to Franklin County Children’s Services.
She traveled to Indianapolis on June 30 to have an abortion.
Take a DNA sample from the fetus to confirm that Fentes is abusive.
Judge Cynthia Ebner said she was held for $2 million to protect the girl and because she was able to escape the country.
