In the last twenty-four hours in Italy the new cases of coronavirus are 7,975 and 65 people have lost their lives. In total, 276,000 diagnostic tests were performed, 2.9% of which were positive. There are 669 patients in the intensive care units of the country, and 5,135 in the hospital wards.

According to the Italian Higher Institute of Health, at the same time, “so far there is no evidence that the Omicron variant causes more severe symptoms than the others.” Overall, Covid-19 patients are found in 9% of hospital beds nationwide.

Meanwhile, the region of Rome, Lazio, has decided that from 1 December the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine will start to be given to all citizens over the age of 18 who wish to do so.
