The New York attorney general has agreed to postpone the deposit of former President Donald Trump and his two adult children in a civil investigation into the death of his first wife, Ivana Trump.

Former President Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr. and his daughter Ivanka Trump were scheduled to begin testifying next week in an investigation into the Trump Organization’s business practices by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

After the deaths of Trump Jr. and Ivanka’s mother on Friday morning, a spokesperson for James’ office said, “This is a temporary delay and the testimony taping will be rescheduled as soon as possible.”

“There are no further delivery dates or other information at this time,” a spokeswoman said.

Condolences to the Trump family.

James’ office says there is evidence the Trump Organization misrepresented the value of real estate to receive more favorable loans and tax breaks.

Trump Jr. is the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, along with his younger brother Eric Trump, who made a video statement in October 2020. Ivanka was the CEO of the family business before his father was named senior adviser to the White House during his presidency.

Former President Trump called Ivana “a wonderful, beautiful, wonderful woman who lived a wonderful and inspiring life” on his Truth Social platform Thursday afternoon.

His pride and joy were Donald Jr.’s three children, Ivanka and Eric. He was very proud of them because we were all very proud of him. In peace Ivan! He wrote.

“He will be greatly missed by his mother, his three children and his ten grandchildren.”

Ivana is believed to have fallen down the stairs of her residence on the Upper East Side of Manhattan after experiencing a possible medical episode. Her cause of death has not yet been identified.

Trump and his two eldest sons lost their appeal in mid-June. In other words, in the James investigation, you have to sit down and take the testimony.
