Former NASCAR driver Bobby East is dead after a fatal shooting at a Los Angeles gas station.
As the Westminster authorities announced, the bloody incident happened on Wednesday, when Bobby East was stabbed in the chest while filling his tank with gasoline. The suspect for the murder, during the attempt to arrest him by the authorities, fell dead from the police fire.
Police say the assailant, identified as William Millsap, had no motive for the knife attack and the investigation into both deaths is ongoing.
Who Was Bobby East?
Bobby East just 16 years old in 2001 when he became the youngest driver to win a major USAC National Midget race.
He was even the winningest driver during the 2004 USAC season with 15 wins across the series’ three divisions. He also had two top-10 finishes in 31 career Truck Series races
NASCAR said in a statement that it was “saddened to learn of the tragic death of Bobby East.” “We extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Bobby, a true racer,” NASCAR added in its statement.
