Britons are trying to deal with the heatwave and a series of problems it has caused in their daily lives while looking for breaths of coolness where this is possible – Luton Airport closed

Unprecedented scenes and chaos have been caused by the extreme – for the climate of the country – temperature increase in Britain.

With the temperature reaching 37 degrees Celsius, schools and attractions are closed.

At the same time, the citizens are trying to deal with the heat and the series of problems it has caused in their daily lives while looking for breaths of coolness where this is possible.

Britons were told to stay indoors as temperatures reached 37.5 degrees Celsius in Kew Gardens, West London, which has become even hotter than the Ibiza resort.

Pilots were reportedly ordered not to land or take off from Brize Norton base in Oxfordshire today amid claims the ‘runway had melted’, while Luton Airport was closed because the tarmac on the runways melted!

RAF pilots have been banned from flying in or out of the UK’s largest air base because the runway has also allegedly “melted out”.

Millions of Britons are working from home today amid fears that transport rails could buckle in the heat.

At the same time, the country’s Railway Station Network warned commuters that train journey times could more than double due to speed restrictions.

The chances of services returning to normal by mid-week will depend on how badly the heat wave has damaged infrastructure.
