Vladimir Putin stood for 50 seconds nervously waiting for Erdogan to enter the room.
Moments of confusion during yesterday’s meeting of the Turkish president with his Russian counterpart in Tehran, where they met to find a solution for the stranded Ukrainian grain.

The scene was interpreted by the Turkish media as Erdogan’s retaliation against Putin, as the Russian president is used to inexplicably setting up his interlocutors. In fact, he has done it with Erdogan in the past.
The meeting in Iran was Putin’s first meeting with a leader of a NATO member state since Russia invaded Ukraine in late February.
In a video released by the Turkish presidency, Putin can be seen standing in front of his chair and the two countries’ flags, his arms folded, his mouth twitching.
His attitude changed before Erdogan appeared.
“Hey, how are you, good?” Erdogan said as they then smiled at each other and shook hands.
Turkey’s T24 website asked in a headline: “Was it revenge?”
