The head of Germany’s Federal Network Agency, Klaus Müller, announced via Twitter that the pipeline has started operating at 30% of its capacity and that this amount is guaranteed for two hours.

Moscow finally opened the Nord Stream 1 taps this morning after 10 days, however, at this stage, the pipeline operating at only 30% of its capacity according to German authorities.

The stream data natural gas for the pipeline Nord Stream 1 and regarding supplies from Russia to Germany were recorded at 29,284,591 kilowatt hours (kwh) per hour this morning (07:00-08:00 Greek time), compared to zero flow in the previous hours, as data from the website of the company that manages the pipeline.

Europe is closely monitoring the situation with the flow of Russian natural gas on the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, as work on the pipeline’s annual maintenance is expected to be completed today, with the European governments to prepare for the possibility of implementing further energy cuts.

The flow of natural gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline at the OPAL and NEL supply interconnection points in Germany was recorded at zero levels (zero kilowatt hours / per hour) for July 21 (06:00-07:00 Greek time) according to the data of the pipeline manager.

“Scissors” up to 15% in natural gas consumption is proposed by the Commission

Plan aimed at limiting natural gas consumption in the EU member states up to 15% within the next few months, the European Commission proposes with the aim of dealing with possible reduced supplies from Gazprom.

The interruption of the country’s supply EU in recent days from Russia caused great concern in Brussels and in European capitals in view of the coming of winter, prompting the Commission to submit today’s proposal.

The Commission initially proposes the voluntary reduction of natural gas consumption, while pointing out that in the coming months and depending on the evolution of the situation, the proposal could become binding.

The Commission calls on all public bodies, consumers, households and electricity suppliers to take extraordinary measures to save natural gas.
