Italy: Far-right Giorgia Meloni leads the polls

by

In her party there are even descendants of Mussolini, while she has made clear her distaste for everything different

The collapse of his government Mario Draghi and his resignation as prime minister it also marked the beginning of the processes for the electoral campaign of the parties in Italy.

All the parties seem to be entering the battle for the September 25 elections, however the results from the latest polls causes concern at the European level.

It seems that the highest percentage is currently gathered by the coalition led by far-right Giorgia Meloni at its helm with a percentage of at least 23% which will include the League and the Forza Italia party.

It is followed by the center-left Democratic Party with 22%, Matteo Salvini’s League with up to 15%, Giuseppe Conte’s Five Stars with 11% and finally Forza Italia, the once powerful conservative party of Silvio Berlusconi with 7%.

Who is the Italian “Le Pen”

Giorgia Meloni is considered one of the most hardline versions of the extreme right in Italy, and not without reason.

She is the head of the Adelphia party in Italy, where even Mussolini’s descendants co-exist, while she has made her distaste for everything different.

“Because family is the enemy, national identity is the enemy, gender is the enemy. Anything that defines us, to them, is an enemy. They want us to be parent 1, parent 2, LGBTI gender, X citizen, codes… But we are not codes, we are people and we will defend our identity. I am Georgia, I am a woman, I am a woman, I am Italian, I am a Christian. You won’t get these from me”she declared in a speech in 2019.

She baptized her party, the Brothers of Italy, with lyrics from the Italian national anthem and defends, as she says, the triptych “Patris, Religion, Family” and as is often the case in this area, everything ends up in… Soros: “The bill Immigration, is exactly what is needed by those who used illegal immigration, to complete the great plan of financial speculation, to deprive nations and peoples of their identity. Because without roots, you are a slave and when you are a slave you serve the interests of Soros”, she has said in her statements.

From 4% in 2018, she is now first in the polls and in sight of winning power together with Berlusconi. After all, with him he became Minister of Youth for the first time in 2008, in Cavaliere’s most scandalous administration.

45-year-old Georgia Meloni has perhaps managed better than any other far-right politician to hide her extreme xenophobic, homophobic and Eurosceptic politics. And it is now up to the Italians to uncover it, in the upcoming elections of their country..
