Putin’s “clumsy” forces, as the “Daily Mail” writes, shot down their own helicopter in Ukraine after it accidentally started shooting at his own troops!

The Ka-52 “Alligator” helicopter, which costs around 12 million pounds, was shot down in Kherson, the General Staff of Ukraine revealed.

Military chiefs joked that it was a “gesture of goodwill” by the invading forces. They reported that three of the helicopters flew over the area and began firing on Russian troops below. They returned fire and shot down one of the helicopters. This is the latest embarrassing blow for Putin’s men, according to the “Daily Mail”.

Just last week, Russia shot down its own Su-34M fighter jet over Ukraine. The soldiers were trying to target US-supplied HIMARS missile launchers that have wreaked havoc on Russian military forces.

The downing of the helicopter came as Ukrainian artillery struck a strategic bridge, which is essential for resupplying its forces from Moscow, using a US-supplied precision missile system.

The Ukrainian military struck the Antonivskyi Bridge, which crosses the Dnieper River in southern Ukraine, late on Tuesday (July 26), deputy head of the Moscow-appointed command for the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, said.

He said on Wednesday, July 27 that the bridge is still standing, but its surface is riddled with holes, blocking the passage of vehicles.

The bridge was heavily damaged by Ukrainian shelling last week when it was hit multiple times. It was closed to trucks, but remained open to passenger vehicles until the final blow. “Ukrainian forces used multiple HIMARS rocket launchers to hit the bridgeStremusov said.

Russian forces continued their artillery barrage in the eastern Donetsk region, targeting towns and villages, according to regional governor Pavlo Kirilenko. “The Russian army is using scorched earth tactics in its attacks on Ukrainian citiesKirilenko said.

He said the area is without natural gas and electricity, while water supply to some areas has also been cut off. In Bakhmut, a key city on the front lines of the Russian offensive, shelling damaged a hotel and caused casualties, Kirilenko said. Amid Moscow’s bid to take full control of the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, the Russians have gained marginal territory northeast of Bakhmut, according to a Washington-based think tank. Russian forces, however, are unlikely to seize significant additional territory in Ukraine “before early fall,” the Institute for the Study of War said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that Russian military casualties have risen to nearly 40,000, adding that tens of thousands more have been wounded and maimed.
