McDonald’s has more than 36,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.

The McDonald’s they uploaded her cheeseburger price for the first time in their over 14 years of operation, due to rising international commodity prices.

The fast food chain said its UK restaurants would raise prices by 10 to 20 cents on some items. The price of a cheeseburger has increased from £0.99 to £1.19.

Companies are facing increased costs for things like fuel, wages and ingredients, with prices rising at the fastest rate seen in 40 years.

In an email to customers, McDonald’s CEO at United Kingdom and Ireland, Alistair Macrow, said the company was being forced to make “difficult choices” about its pricing.

“We understand that any price increases are not good news, but we have delayed and minimized these changes for as long as we could,” he said, adding that some prices were not affected.

Some prices will still vary between different restaurants, as some are operated by franchisees, who can set prices based on McDonald’s recommendations.

Other items getting price increases are breakfast meals, large coffees, McNugget boxes and upgrades from medium to large meals, the company said.

On Tuesday, the company said it is considering adding more discounted menu options because the increased cost of living, particularly in Europe, has led some lower-income customers to buy cheaper items and fewer large combo meals.
