“Our faction is united. We are interested in ideas, programs, plans for Italy and not armchairs,” said the “Cavaliere”
The former Italian Prime Minister and current leader of the Forza Italia party, Silvio Berlusconiin an interview with the “Quotidiano Nazionale” newspaper, he refers to the strategy of the conservative faction ahead of the September 25 parliamentary elections.
“Matteo Salvini of the League, Georgia Meloni of the Brothers of Italy, as well as many other officials of the parties of our alliance, are all right to lead the next government”, said the “Cavaliere”.
“Our faction is united. We are interested in ideas, programs, plans for Italy, not armchairs. All three forces of our faction are numerically necessary to be able to win the elections,” added Berlusconi.
At the same time, the Italian former prime minister emphasized that he was “bitter” by the decision of three ministers from his party (Mara Carfagna, Maria Stella Gelmini and Renato Brunetta) to leave Forza Italia. “They didn’t renounce me, but their history, the voters and their very lives” said “Mr. Tibi”.
“The future center-right government, however, would need a serious and qualified opposition, not a chaotic jumble of leaders and forces that lack popular support,” Berlusconi concluded.
