One of Ukraine’s richest businessmen was killed along with his wife in massive Russian shelling of the southern city of Mykolaiv.
74-year-old Oleksii Vadatursky and his wife, Raisa, died when a rocket hit their home overnight, the BBC reported, citing Ukrainian media.
Wadaturski was the owner of Nibulon, a grain exporting company. He had also received the “Hero of Ukraine” award.
The mayor of Mykolaiv stated that it was probably o more intense Russian bombardment of the city so far.
Damage occurred to a hotel, a sports complex, two schools and a gas station, as well as residences.
Mykolife is on the main route to Odessa, Ukraine’s main port, and has been hit repeatedly.
