The circumstances under which one of the two pilots of the plane making an emergency landing, jumped out and was killed, are being investigated by the American authorities in North Carolina.
The strange incident occurred at Raleigh Durham International Airport on Friday when a small plane malfunctioned and made an emergency landing.

When the aircraft landed on the runway, only one pilot was in the cockpit. The other pilot, the 23-year-old Charles Hew Crooks found in a backyard 30 miles south of the airport in the city Fuquay-Varina. Crooks was not wearing a parachute and authorities believe his body fell about 3,500 feet.
Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating, leaving all possibilities open.
