In the early hours of yesterday morning, gunmen arrived in a car in front of a night club owned by the victim, opened fire and fled.

“The state attorney’s office is conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrators of this crime,” which is classified as “aggravated murder,” according to a statement.

The attack was committed as the summer season begins, in the context of which the resort expects a large number of visitors, mainly from the Mexico.

According to Mexican media, there have been at least three attacks against nightclubs there in recent months.

Guerrero, on Mexico’s Pacific coast, is among the states hardest hit by the wave of gang violence, which is primarily involved in drug trafficking.

Mexico has been wracked by cartel violence, with more than 340,000 murders and tens of thousands of disappearances since December 2006, when the controversial “war on drugs” began, according to official figures.
