‘Out of control’: Ex-rugby player knocked out while punching partner

A British ex-rugby player has died in a collision while punching his also British partner in the hotel room they had rented for their vacation in Italy.

According to the Daily Mail, the 40-year-old Ricky Baby, former rugby star, viciously attacked his girlfriend Jenny Platt, a mother of two, who was seriously injured but released from hospital.
According to initial reports, the 1.90m tall and 108kg Baby suffered a heart attack in the middle of the attack on the morning of July 16.

Platt, 44, was unable to speak to police for a week due to the severity of her condition.

The woman ran out of the room at the Hotel Continentale in Florence, covered in blood, shouting “help me”. Jenny explained to the police that on the night Ricky died he was completely out of control and that he had attacked her. The successful real estate agent was rushed to the hospital where she had to undergo three surgeries.

After being released from the hospital, Jenny Platt will need ongoing medical care, but she has also suffered psychological trauma. Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, a family friend said: ‘Jenny is devastated. She is the victim of a shocking and violent attack at the hands of the man she had a long-term relationship with. “She is a strong woman who runs a successful business and is desperately trying to come to terms with what has happened to her and Ricky’s actions before his death.” Bybee was also a real estate agent before his rugby career ended prematurely due to injury.
