The speaker of the US House of Representatives and her South Korean counterpart Kim Jin-pyo pledged on Thursday to achieve the denuclearization of North Korea, during Pelosi’s visit to Seoul after her trip to Taipei.

Pyongyang’s regime today slammed US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to South Korea, decrying her claims of “deterrence” of North Korea during talks with officials in Seoul.

The speaker of the US House of Representatives and her South Korean counterpart Kim Jin-pyo pledged on Thursday to achieve the denuclearization of North Korea, during Pelosi’s visit to Seoul after her trip to Taipei.

According to North Korea’s KCNA news agency, Pelosi’s comments are part of a US plan to escalate tensions on the Korean peninsula. KCNA also reported that Nancy Pelosi attempted to justify the United States’ “hostile” policy against North Korea and the buildup of US military forces in the region.

“Pelosi, the worst destroyer of international peace and stability, had earlier provoked the anger of the Chinese people with her recent trip to Taiwan,” KCNA reported, adding that North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman Jo Yong-sam stressed that “The US will have to pay dearly for all the trouble spots she (Pelosi) caused wherever she went.”

North Korea reportedly prepared in the first half of the year to conduct a nuclear test, according to Reuters, citing an excerpt of a confidential UN report.
