Total US aid to Ukraine from the Biden administration now reaches $9 billion
$1 billion in additional military aid to Kyiv, announced Monday the biden administration, speaking of the largest delivery of rockets, ammunition and other weapons to Ukrainian forces directly from US Defense Department stockpiles.
The US commitment to a colossal new arms shipment to Ukraine comes as analysts warn that Russia has been moving troops and equipment to ports in the country’s south to prevent a Ukrainian counterattack.
The assistance includes additional missiles for the HIMARS launchers, as well as thousands of artillery shells, mortars, Javelin missiles and other munitions and equipment. Military commanders and other US officials say the HIMARS and artillery systems are vital to Ukraine’s ongoing fight to prevent Russia from seizing more territory.
Total US aid to Ukraine from the Biden administration is now reaching the 9 billion dollars since late February, when Russia invaded Ukraine.
