The third, boosting dose of the coronavirus vaccine was made in the afternoon by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson, saying that “the most important thing one can do under any circumstances is to do the boosting dose when he is entitled”.
At the same time, the British Ministry of Health announced 53,945 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, most in one day from July 17.
The death toll confirmed was 141, significantly more than last Thursday’s 47, although on a seven-day rolling basis they have fallen by 3%.
There are 7,644 coronavirus carriers in the hospital, of which 931 are intubated.
Boris Johnson also said that the government is trying to react in a “balanced and proportionate way” to the arrival of the Omicron variant, referring to measures related to arrivals from abroad. “Otherwise, we want the world to continue as it is,” he added, urging citizens not to cancel their Christmas plans.
