“After the fire, there was an explosion of ammunition,” he notes.
According to the governor of Crimea Sergey Aksionovwho went to the scene, two civilians were injured while the evacuation of the residents of a neighboring village was in progress.
At 09:15 Greek time, the explosions continued, Aksionov reported on Telegram.
This incident comes a week after the explosion of ammunition intended for the air force in a warehouse located in the vicinity of the Saki military airport in the western part of Crimea.
These explosions caused the death of one person, while several were injured.
Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Moscow in 2014, is at the forefront of Russia’s February 24 military offensive against neighboring Ukraine.
Russian aircraft take off almost daily from Crimea to strike targets in areas under the control of Kiev, and several zones of this area are within the radius of action of Ukrainian cannons and drones.
Despite the conflict, Crimea remains a popular holiday destination for many Russians who continue to enjoy summer on its beaches.
“The morning near Dzhankoy began with explosions,” the adviser to the Ukrainian presidency reacted on Twitter Mihailo Podoliak.
“Crimea in a normal country is the Black Sea, mountains, recreation and tourism. But Russian-occupied Crimea is explosions of ammunition depots and increased risk of death for intruders and thieves,” he added.
