At some point in her teens, Marguerite Kohler was ready to start a life as a nun.
He applied and was accepted into a convent near his home in Philadelphia.
However, everything soon changed when she fell in love with her future husband, William, and the couple had more than 11 children.
An only child, Margarita has 56 grandchildren.
Today he celebrates his 99th birthday, welcomes his 100th grandson and continues to expand his family.
Since it’s nearly impossible for the whole family to gather around the Thanksgiving table, families celebrate major holidays with “shit.”
She is one of Marguerite’s 56 grandchildren and the mother of her 100th great-grandchild.
He was named Kohler after his great-grandmother’s last name.
The young man was also given the middle name William, after Marguerite’s late husband.
“My husband liked the name Cole,” Christine told NBC.
“It was very natural to name him Kohler and William as his middle names.
“And you can always call him Cole if you want.”
Christine added that the nearly 100th anniversary “created a wonderful legacy that spans generations.”
Margarita, of Blue Bell, Philadelphia, will celebrate her 100th birthday in a few months.
The 99-year-old said of meeting the young Kohler: “I think how lucky I was.
It was while attending high school in the early 1940s that she became interested in becoming a nun.
William, who died in 2008, “set her free” as the romance blossomed.
Margarita always wanted to have a large family after experiencing “difficulties” and “loneliness” as an only child.
