On Politico’s behind-the-scenes Washington website, “Ukraine has been telegraphing its big counteroffensive for months. So where is it?” (below). In short, the extensive report states:
“For two months now Ukraine has been signaling its intention to recapture Kherson in what has been billed as a major counter-offensive and the moment Kiev turns the tide against Russia. But the slow pace and some intriguing decisions have made even the most observant analysts wonder where she ended up.”
At about the same time, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told a military exhibition that the “myth of American superweapons” had been dispelled by their use “without significant effect” in Ukraine. From him, according to Russian RT:
“Initially, it was about the Javelin anti-tank system and some drones. More recently, Himars rocket systems have been promoted to the role of superweapons by the [veículos] westerners. However, all these weapons are being ground in battle.”
A day later, at the event, Vladimir Putin offered the Russian weapons, including to Brazil, which has just purchased the Javelin. He stressed that “almost all” have been used in combat and declared, in the American Fox News report:
“Russia sincerely cherishes strong historical ties and true trust with states in Latin America, Asia and Africa and is ready to offer its partners and allies the most modern types of weapons. From small arms to armored vehicles and artillery, combat and unmanned aerial vehicles.”
As a salesman, he assured that “many of them are years ahead of their foreign counterparts”.
Already a customer and also present at the Russian exhibition, India will now “use the technology of the Zirkan hypersonic missile” to manufacture in the country a similar one by the Indo-Russian company BrahMos. In the Jagran highlight, in Hindi, “Zirkan missile is capable of defeating the Chinese DF-26”, with “characteristics such that the enemy shuddered“.

The information that China would participate in “war games” in Russia in two weeks was reported in India with another highlight. In newspapers such as the Hindu and Hindustan Times and the India Today portal, “India and China will send troops to Russia for joint military exercise.”
