A Wendy’s customer has died 10 days after being struck by a fast food chain employee who complained about an order.
The 67-year-old victim was fighting for his life after Wendy’s colleague, Antoine Kendrick, 35, punched him in the head when he began licking Frost on July 26.
Surveillance footage from a restaurant in Arizona showed Kendrick taking an order from an elderly man and then pummeling him around the cash register until he collapsed and appeared unconscious. He hit his head and fell unconscious.
The client died Aug. 5, Prescott Valley police said Monday night. His name has not been revealed.
After being airlifted to Valley Hospital, he was listed as in critical condition.
Kendrick is charged with second degree murder.
The footage shows Kendrick seeing the customer lying on the floor, walking behind the counter, grabbing the item and walking out.
According to police, a customer complained about ordering food when employee Antoine Kendrick came out from behind the service counter and punched him in the head.
The other patrons of the restaurant had a look of horror on their faces.
“That was Mike Tyson’s kick,” the client told AZ Family. I think and hope it isn’t because it casts a bad light on our community as a whole.
Kendrick was arrested two days after the incident and was initially charged with aggravated assault.
