Western leaders’ “unwavering commitment” to support Ukraine against Russian invasion

Concern prevails in the international community about the safety of Ukraine’s nuclear units, and especially its own Zaporizhia.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the leaders of the United States, France and Germany stressed in a telephone call on Sunday that it is important to ensure the safety of Ukraine’s nuclear facilities, Downing Street said.

“In their telephone call, Prime Minister (Johnson), (US) President (Joe) Biden, (French (French) Emmanuel) Macron and (German) Chancellor Olaf Scholz underlined their unwavering commitment to support Ukraine against the invasion of Russia”, according to the representative of the British Prime Minister.

“They stressed the importance of ensuring the safe (operation) and security of the nuclear facilities and welcomed the recent talks that made it possible to send the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the Zaporizhia facility,” he added.
