“We will not allow a fait accompli”: Akar threats after the deposit in Cyprus

by

“Greece does not talk, it lies every second – Greek politicians and media executives see the mistakes of their government” asserted the Turkish Defense Minister

Threats against Greece and Cyprus “that Ankara will not allow fait accompli” to Eastern Mediterranean launched the defense minister of Turkey Hulusi Akar in the wake of the discovery of the colossal natural gas field in block 6 of the Cypriot EEZ.

At the same time, Hulusi Akar once again made “white black”, accusing Greece of… intransigence and lies.

As it transmits Manolis Kostidis, Akar characteristically stated that “we are right, and we are strong because we are right. We are ready to sit at the table to chat. But we are determined and able not to allow our rights and interests, Turkey’s and our 85 million citizens’ to be trampled upon, nor the rights of our Cypriot brothers and let us not allow any fait accompli”.

“Unfortunately, Greece does not come for talks, does not sit at the table, does not listen, keeps lying. Every minute every second and a lie. We are tired of proving it to be a lie,” said the Turkish Defense Minister defiantly.

“But they now see the mistakes of the Greek government some Greek politicians, retired generals and admirals, academics, some media executives and Greeks who have common sense” he continued.

The United States they support the right of Cyprus to develop its resources in the Exclusive Economic Zone, however, the State Department declares after the announcements of the ENI-TOTAL consortium for a large natural gas field in block 6 of the Cyprus EEZ According to statements by a State Department representative, such a development will promote European energy security while strengthening the foundations for energy security throughout the region.
