The Turkish president is incendiary once again on the occasion of the 951st anniversary of the Battle of Matizkert – The “barbarity of the Europeans”, Sultan Alpaslan and the Crusades
A new attack against the West was launched on Thursday by Recep Tayyip Erdoganin remarks he made during the celebrations for the 951st anniversary of the Battle of Majikert, in the city of Ahlat.
The Turkish president referred to the military operations in Syria and lashed out at Western countries, which he said have been using “insidious methods” for two centuries to block Turkey’s march.
“As we always say, we can turn up one night and we can go anywhere. Our difference from others is that we have no eyes for no man’s land. We work only for our own safety and the peace of our friends. No country whose past is full of colonial massacres has the right to have a say in this fair and just struggle of Turkey. It is futile for those who see that they can no longer cut Turkey’s way with the methods they have used for two centuries, to hunt us with new games and new insidious methods as 2023 approaches. Whatever they do, however, they will not they succeed. Our surrender is to our Lord alone. Beyond that, we do not and will not recognize any human power that will stop us.”he pointed out.
He then referred to Crusades and the “barbarity of Europe”:
“The barbarism of Europe reached its peak with the Crusades, which appeared to have religious purposes, but were in fact purely plundering. Ahlat and Manzikert are the seal of our ascension, giving confidence to our friends and fear to our enemies. Ahlat and Majikert are symbols that will remind the new generations of the value of their values and the homeland.
When Sultan Alpaslan was victorious at Manzikert, he lit a light that illuminated the future not only of the Seljuks, but of everyone in Anatolia, including Greeks, Armenians, and Jews. When Fatih Sultan Mehmet occupied Constantinople, he guaranteed the honor of people of all religions. While we won the national struggle and established our democracy, we saved the lives and property of all those living in Anatolia and fleeing to Anatolia.”.
